Bristol Whisky Appreciation Society

After many years of thinking about it, pondering how to do it and talking to others about it, we are finally putting our money where our mouth is and starting to run a whisky club in the city we are in based in – Bristol.

We are hoping that #BWAS will be a pretty informal monthly whisky tasting event/club. We will look to make sure that our club is inclusive, both to those that love whisky, but also those that have never tried whisky before. We hope that lots of different people will get involved and tickets will be available online and on a first come, first served basis.
Each club night will have a specific theme and we will aim to have 4/5 whiskies to sample that develop the chosen theme and give club members chance to expand their whisky horizons. Sometimes we might invite a brand ambassador, who will showcase the whisky that their distillery produces, other times we will source and supply the whisky ourselves to fit to a particular theme and other times we will go completely off piste and run other creative, interesting nights. We are hoping to make the club self-sustaining, but not really looking at it being a money making venture, so hopefully this will keep the tickets at a properly affordable price.
We are looking to run on a regular Thursday evening, looking provisionally at the last week of each month. The aim will be to start at 7.30/8pm and be done by 10pm with the formal part of the night, at the latest. We are currently chatting to venues, but will be selecting one in the centre of town that is easily accessible from the whole of Bristol.
So, if you like the sound of being involved or know someone who does in Bristol then tell them about our club, follow the link and sign up for the mailing list!
