Our Favourite Whiskies Under £30

This is a quick guide to some of our favourite drams that sneak in under the £30 mark. Everything here we’ve either personally owned or have sampled the whisky (which might be why we’re missing some – tell us what we’ve missed in the comments). Hopefully this guide will prove useful to those who are starting their whisky journey as well as those who have been on this journey for a while.

Aberfeldy 12

This sneaks into our Whiskies Under £30 purely because of how often it drops in price, sometimes as low as £25! This is an incredibly smooth dram and one i’ve purchased multiple times.

For Fans of: Sweet, Smooth and Fruity Whisky.
Price Range: £25-35
Purchase: Master of Malt | Amazon

Highland Park 12

This is a great introduction into the Highland Park whiskies. Those who have tried the older expressions, probably won’t be blown away with the 12 but it’s still superb value for a good whisky.

For Fans of: Light Spice, Fruit and Smoke.
Price Range: £25-30
Purchase: Master of Malt | Amazon

Black Bull Kyloe

One of the lowest priced bottles on our list, but it shouldn’t be overlooked because of that. A smooth, fruity and chocolatey dram and we think you’d be hard pressed to find a better blend in this price range. Read the full review here.

For Fans of: Smooth and Chocolatey Whisky.
Price Range: £20-25
Purchase: Master of Malt | The Spirits Embassy

For Fans of: Sherry. Sweet and Fruity Whisky.

Bulleit Bourbon

The high rye content (30%) separates this from typical bourbons. Expect lots of sweetness and fruit, along with a good spice kick.
For Fans of: Bourbon and Rye Whiskey
Price Range: £20-28
Purchase: Master of Malt | Amazon

Woodford Reserve Distillers Select

Another Bourbon with a relatively high Rye content (18%). Smooth with lots of toffee and caramel notes. Perfect to drank neat and even goes great in an old fashioned.

Penderyn Myth

Another one that is usually over the £30 mark, but it’s regularly on offer. This Welsh whisky is sweet with lots of dried fruit flavours. A great introduction into Welsh whisky and probably our favourite from Penderyn.
